Cherry tree

Wild cherry (Prunus avium)

Wild cherry, historically also known as bird cherry, is well-known practically in the whole Europe. For many people, tasty and sweet fruits are a symbol associated with summer. Trees grow up to several meters tall, leaves are large, intensely green. The plant blooms early and may even freeze. Flowers are white, most often they bloom abundantly in the second half of April. Fruits weight 5 grams or even more. Fruits are collected starting from the first day of June to the end of July depending on variety.

Due to excellent taste of cherries, this variety is mainly used for direct consumption. Nonetheless, the taste of cherries from liquors and other preserves is also very well known.
